Age Ratings
Age Ratings
Research and explain how and why films are classified for their audiences.
All Age Ratings:
Meanings:
U: General Viewing for all audiences.
PG: Parental Guidance Suggested, Some Content may be innapropriate for children.
12A: Anyone under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
12: No access for anyone under the age of 12.
15: No access for anyone under the age of 15.
18: No access for anyone under the age of 18.
18R: Restricted Sale.
Age Ratings are in place mainly so that parents have an easier job of what is appropriate for their children. With age ratings they have a rough idea of what kind of things the film is going to contain, therefore being able to decide whether it is appropriate or not.
